COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
My undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Psychology were completed in Strasbourg, France, and were theoretically grounded in Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis, as well as object relations theory.
I subsequently completed a four-year training programme in Systemic Psychotherapy at the Laboratory for the Study of Human Relations in Greece, where I received extensive, in-depth training in individual, group and family systemic psychotherapy.
Systemic theory approaches the individual as part of their close and wider family system, and understands their difficulties as a result of the role they hold within that system and their relationships with other members.
My therapeutic practice has gradually been enriched by attachment theory, narrative psychotherapy, trauma therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), along with a wide range of therapeutic techniques and tools.
Today, I work in an integrative way and consider the most important and powerful agent of change to be the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client.
Within a framework of respect, acceptance, and safety, the client has the opportunity to explore their difficulties, experience a reparative relational experience, and develop through it.
